McGill Domestic Violence Clinic

If violence is of personal concern to you, then The McGill Domestic Violence Clinic is a place that can help.

Confidential counselling is provided for individuals, couples, and families dealing with violence.

A comprehensive treatment model has been developed at the McGill Domestic Violence Clinic, which addresses the complexities of the problem of violence against women.

Services are available to women whether they choose to leave their partners or not and, at times, may be provided free of charge. A treatment group for men who use violence meets weekly and is available for a fee on a sliding scale.

Services are provided by professional social workers, some of whom are pursuing graduate training; and all work is supervised directly by means of a one-way mirror and video equipment. Permission to audio / video tape and to use tapes for teaching purposes is therefore a requirement of the McGill Domestic Violence Clinic.

Self -referrals are welcome. Referrals are accepted 12 months a year. New female clients will be accepted as clinical availability permits so please contact Tom Caplan at 514-737-7208 for information regarding women’s services. Women seeking services are also recommended to contact S.O.S. Violence Conjugale at 1-800-363-9010.
